Varvara Ivanovna Tokmakova (born Teplova) (1850-1936) She was born and lived in Siberia and in the Russian Far East. In the early 1880s she moved to the Crimea together with her husband. Oleis, the Tokmakov's estate in Crimea, was visited by many famous people of the epoque, such as writers Leo Tolstoy, Maksim Gorky and Aleksandr Kuprin, composer Sergey Rakhmaninoff, singer Feodor Chaliapin, actress Maria Yermolova. After her husband's death she handed the school the hospital and other buildings that belonged to the Tokmakovs, to the local authorities and she left to the family only the Oleis dwelling houses. During the Soviet period the former TokmakovsNULL estate was occupied by the State ArtistsNULL Rest House.
